There is the coolest Science Fiction and Fantasy symposium happening in Orem, UT on Feb 9-11, 2012. You can read about it HERE.
Last year I went and took my daughter and husband with me. This year it seems I am on my own, except perhaps the last day if my husband chooses to take the day off and go. Which I hope he does, because as of late he has become so supportive and I LOVE discussing writing with him. I think the most romantic thing he has ever done was take me to dinner and discuss SOA – plot, setting, characters and all – in a vibrant, animated way. Like he cared as much as I did.
It really gets old plodding along with the same idea although you know you’ll never drop it. I appreciated the fresh point of view. Sometimes I envy Richard Paul Evans (he’s going to be there Saturday, btw) when he mentions his wife has read his manuscript. I look forward to finishing so I can have that experience too.
Anyhow, if you’re going, please look for me. I’d even be thrilled if you asked me to lunch. I will say yes…
Is that a shameless plug? We all have to eat, right? 😉
Wish I could make it. Sounds like a great experience.
