I throughly enjoyed this firefighter’s story of shoe saving:
https://ted.com/talks/view/id/1096I know of a couple of writers who received purple hearts from soldiers who said they never would have earned them except for the character lessons they learned in their books. You never know how your story will change things – both big and small. Maybe your book will help a child learn to love reading. Or help someone escape from being overwhelmed with a little joy. Perhaps it will spark someone’s creativity, starting a new generation of writers, artists, or even start a burning desire to learn about something they weren’t interested in before.
Write today. Go save some shoes.
Excellent post. Trying to save some shoes. ; )
How incredible. That has inspired and moved me a lot. I wrote a story once and someone said it eased their depression. That meant so much to me. That’s really what I want out of writing more than anything else.
I love the new look of your website!
People like that are what gives me faith in humanity. And that story about the purple heart always reminds me that we’re not just writing stories.
I went on vacation for a week and all your blogs disappeared! What happened to Haven and your blogger profile?
